Chanel's Soleil Tan De Chanel Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Bronze Rose

'Rose Bronze'
So far, I am loving Chanel's Summer Collection, I think it is one of their best ones yet! With that being said, it should come as no surprise to learn that I added a new addition to my growing Chanel Summer 2011 Collection. The limited edition bronzing powder ($50.00) in Bronze Rose (547). I was looking for a new blush/bronzer and did a happy dance when I found out this particular one was oil-free (if you remember a few posts back, my dermatologist gave me strict instructions to use oil-free makeup only). So being the obedient patient that I am, I'm heeding my dermatologist's advice.

Chanel has two different versions of this bronzer, one in rose and one in coral. I chose this one because I am so fair (I'm a MAC NW20 for reference) and I like the effect the pink mixed in with the bronze tones gives off. It's not too orangey or muddy. It is a bronzer with a built in rose highlighter. The other bronzer, in Bronze Corail, was so beyond gorgeous in real life, but sadly, the coloring just wouldn't work with mine.

This formula blends so well and is finely milled. Chanel is synonymous with quality and this bronzer is no exception. With this you can go out there and get that "sun kissed" effect without the sun's harmful effects. It is a total win-win. I also like that this can act as a blush or a bronzer stretching your proverbially beauty buck.

The pink in real life is darker than it appears on Chanel's website and I tried in vain to capture that with my camera, but alas, the sun never made its appearance today in sunny Southern California. I just do not think pictures do this bronzer any justice, so run -- don't walk -- to your local Chanel counter and see for yourself!

L-R the colors were taken from the top of the compact to the bottom. The last color is all the colors combined.

Sneak a Peek Into My Cosmetic Case

These types of posts have always intrigued me, so I thought it would be fun to partake and let you see what I carry around with me on a daily basis in my cosmetic case.

My cosmetic case was a gift from the hubby years ago. It's a Louis Vuitton Cosmetic Pouch measuring from LxHxD is 6.7''x4.7''. It currently retails for $310.00 (but this was not the price we paid years ago, in fact, I don't remember the actual price. Louis Vuitton's prices rise steadily). I love the size of this case and am continually surprised with how much it really does hold.

I like the sleekness of this case. Another thing that is quite nice about this case is the fact that you can wipe it down easily if you experience any spillage (gasp). I also like how resilient it is, and am amazed at how well it has held up over the years, this thing still looks new! It has made changing purses a breeze, as I can just toss it into a new purse when the mood strikes.

I don't carry too much stuff with me in my cosmetic case and I personally don't have a need to tote around a blush or foundation. I primarily have it filled with lip stuff, seeing how this is the area that most often requires the most touchups. I do not have any blush or eyeshadows in here either. I find that when using an eyeshadow base my eyeshadow doesn't budge.  Besides, I could easily throw in my Edward Bess Compact Rouge, I just don't have it in my case at this time.

You can also see I have a thing for peach and pink lipgloss. What can I say, between this and my clear cube I may need an intervention? I have four Chanel pinky/peach glosses, one Kevyn Aucoin hot pink lipgloss, one Nars brownish pink lipgloss, one Bobbi Brown pinky/sparkly lipgloss, and one Giorgio Armani lipstick in peach (that has the coolest magnetic closure ever). I also have a MAC lipliner in Subculture that I never use (oops). I tote around my Chanel powder (primarily for the mirror) and one set of MAC blotting papers to control shine. Add to that my Marchesa mini mascara and my mascara wands (that I pick up from Sephora) to tame my eyebrows and I'm good to go. With all that, I have my bases covered for minor touch-ups.

Now, that you have been able to look at how I organize my makeup at home I hope you enjoyed looking into my cosmetic pouch just as much!
