Le Metier De Beaute's Splendid Frost Kaleidoscope with Up Close Photos and Swatches

Splendid Frost came out just in time for everyone to celebrate the holidays and arrive to those parties looking extra go-od. I think out of the 5 kaleidoscopes I own, Splendid Frost is my favorite for it's shimmer and unique color combinations. I seriously would have splurged on this kaleidoscope for the 'Sugar Plum' color alone. It really is that pretty. The way the shimmer is set off in the sun is really something you need to experience for yourself.
Splendid Frost

'Crystal Ball' - golden brown with flecks of champagne

'Empire' - a matte gray

'Rockette' - coral

'Sugar Plum' - a deep blue with flecks of pink and purple
The most frustrating thing about trying to photograph these kaleidoscopes is that no matter how good your lighting is (I had full sun), or how good your camera is (it's a decent Canon DSLR), or how talented the photographer is (my hubby has skills!) some things just cannot be captured. I liken it to the most beautiful sunset you have ever seen. You feverishly take pictures trying in vain to capture just how spectacular this event is to review them later and think "ehh, it was prettier in my head." That's because it was! I still wanted to post this pictures (I retook these pics to show how bright and beautiful the coral color really is!) just in case anyone was still contemplating purchasing Splendid Frost for $95.00. It is still available on at Every kaleidoscope comes with a flip top mirror perfect for applying any touch-ups with.

  1. I love my Splendid Frost!! Aww your hubby helps with pictures??

  2. @Periosuly, yes, especially where it's pics of my lips, eyes, or product swatches on my arm. He's very supportive of this blog and that means a lot to me.

  3. loveeeee SF. Crystal Ball is my fav EVER!

  4. @Blushing SF is my favorite, more specifically Sugar Plum. I have nothing like it in my collection, love it!

  5. Very pretty indeed!

I just pulled the trigger on Penelope! My first LMdB palette! I can't wait to get it!

  6. you are seriously evil!! I was resisting this one well until I saw these pictures :P

  7. @MM - their kaleidoscopes are very addicting, don't say I didn't warn you. Did you order it through BG online?

  8. Hi Jenn
I called NY and ordered it. I also chose the poppy fresh tint. I need another blush like a hole in my head but there you have it! I decided to exchange Mimosa too- I just really disliked it on me. Mr. M hated it! I called and they were lovely- told me to ship it back so I'm exchanging it for the bronzer! I blame you for that one- your last photo killed me! Can't wait to get it.

  9. Hi Jeanie,

I love "Poppy" it is such a fresh looking color. I'm glad that you were able to exchange Mimosa I want to try it on my toes before I completely give up on it. I hope you really like the Bronze Rose - I love it.
    Take care,

  10. Splendid Frost is the only kaleidoscope that I have it and I love it, the colour combination is just so unusual and all the shadows are great quality. x

  11. Klara, I love the color combination too. There is something about "Sugar Plum" that I find to be so magical.
